I have always been a bit of an entertainer. As a teenager was a resident performer in a local Folk Club. In 1976 I became a Red Coat and so completed a short apprenticeship 'on the boards' appearing in cabaret with Bob Monkhouse, Harry Worth and Anita Harris - all names of the time.

When living in London I appeared in versions of Grease and Smike as well as in several pantomimes.

But it was to magic I was eventually drawn and as Pickwick, Uncle Cyril and Doc Shadow (yes, I know very kitch!) have appeared in numerous shows including TV and Theatre.
As a writer, producer and director I was actively involved in the pioneering Magic Theatre Workshop. We were amongst the first groups in the UK to embrace the Spirit Theatre and Bizarre Magic genre of entertainment. This interest continues with my invoklvement with The Keronw Theatre of Blood and their shows Dine with Vampires and The Spiritcatchers.

On a less macabre note I have directed an amateur version of Jesus Christ Superstar as well as being musical director and special effects consultant for versions of Sweeny Tood, The Ancient Mariner and the Mystery Play.

In 2000 I co-produced and developed the Illusion 2000 show for Haven Holidays.

Current projects include:

Corporate Magic Solutions (creative marketing and trade show performers) -  where we have offered services for exhibitions at the Reebok Stadium, The NEC and numerous County Fairs.

The Magic Show - booked to appear this summer at Lands End, Cornwall

During 2006 and 2008 I was resident Rational Mystic and Mind Magician on BBC Radio Devon, Cornwall and the Isle of Scillies. It was a great time during which I was encouraged to develop that aspect of my magic that had always been a fascination. At one time known as Psychic Entertainment and more recently as Psychological Illusion, it has always been known to magicians as Mentalism.

This is the bridge between my training work and my long time interest in magic.

Mentalism is not just the use of trickery, but relies heavily upon psychological techniques and an understanding of the subtle communication patterns that can influence behaviour.

As a Mentalist I have presented psychological based lectures to magic societies and to internationally celebrated magicians. In 2006 and 2007 I performed and presened at Jeff McBride and Eugene Burgers Magic and Mystery School event. A high spot of my recent magical career.

Over the next few months I hope to be presenting a regular Mind Myth and Magic slot on Penwith Community Radio; this together with the Magic 4 Learning Programme means that my much of my work will continue to revolve around conjuring in some form or another.
